Think of this as a letter of support. Words from my heart to yours, if you may be going through a time of uncertainty, pain, or grief and loss.
Or through any time of challenge, change and transition, and you feel a little vulnerable, raw, and alone.
I understand uncertainty. So deeply within myself. I feel you. I see you. And I acknowledge you in your own experience of whatever this might be, or how this feels for you, right now. I hope something from these words shared may feel supportive for you. And perhaps in some way, I also write this to myself.
Just as my wellbeing and coaching support is unique ...
I don't work in the same way as some other coaches and wellness practitioners do.
My approach is holistic and unique to you, in every way, as an individual. I truly feel that it needs to be, and it should be. None of us are the same. We are all so very different and there is never one approach that will suit us all.
I also feel it's your right - as an individual, as a client - to receive this level and quality of personalised care and support.
A simple way to embrace mindfulness and how this will benefit you.
We love to overcomplicate things, don't we. Like Mindfulness. It's a word that we hear all the time, and when that happens we can sometimes lose our own undesrtanding and connection to what it means for us.
Just like anything we choose in our lives, when it feels right and true for us, then we start to naturally embrace it. In our own way.
I've often asked people what mindfulness means to them, and they tell me they don't know. So, I want to share my own simple process of mindfulness, and how I bring this to my every day. I hope this will feel supportive and encouraging for you.
This is huge topic I could write about for ages. I feel so passionately about our own conscious choices, and intentional ways we use social media.
I think it's absolutely necessary, and a priority for us all, for our own wellbeing, to really know what works for us and why.
Something I love more than anything?
Having a conversation! In person, over the phone, over skype. For me, nothing replaces conversations in real time, in real life. I love conversations so much ... it's just a natural part of who I am.
How often do you hold back on reaching out to someone you'd really love to have a conversation with?
Maybe you think, 'I'd love to get to know that person', but then you think 'I probably shouldn't, they might not want to'. But how do you know if you don't ask?
You know yourself best. You know your own needs. You know what's right and true for you. Honouring your own way is what will bring powerful changes to your heart and to your life. I know this and believe in this, with every fibre of my being.
There are times we may forget. We might need reminders. We might seek the space and environment to become more aware of this. We may benefit greatly with someone who will support us, to draw ourselves back to what we know within ourselves.
But we always have all that we need within us. True compassion and support is about empowering us to listen to ourselves first, and foremost, with everything.
Being in harmony with ourselves is a beautiful and supportive way to live.
Your body knows what it needs. Listen to what it's telling you. Not just sometimes. But in every moment, of every day.
There's such a profound and significant shift for our wellbeing, when we support ourselves in this way.
Not asking our 'to do list' or checking our 'calendar updates' for what we should be doing. But asking ourselves and our bodies what we can best do, in every given moment, to support ourselves.
We can choose to create our life in a way that our bodies guide us to. Living in harmony within ourselves is a beautiful way to be.
Stress is something we all feel. It can actually be a positive thing, if it motivates us and helps us to get things done in a productive and supportive way.
But when there's too much stress, and we become overwhelmed, stress can become unhealthy and harmful and we may start to feel anxiety.
The emotional and psychological impact of the fires on wellbeing is a very real thing, amongst us all ...
Emotions can be very heightened through this bush fire time. No more so than those living amongst the fires and I don't think there is anyone whose heart isn't breaking right now, for everyone affected, and for our wildlife and our country.
Worry, stress and fear are common emotions and responses to everything we are hearing and being surrounded by. And if you are someone who has lived previously through a disaster or major castastrophe or tragedy of any kind, then you may find that your own emotions are heightened even more. You may be feeling more stressed and anxious, grief may resurface even in a vivid and unexpected way. It's not abnormal to feel this way. It's very common for images that we might see on social media or through the news, to evoke memories or visions that may be triggering, even if it's a different experience than we're seeing to something of our own.
However you chose to spend the last eve of the year, I hope it felt supportive. Or if it didn't, I hope these first days of this new year, will bring the support you desire and choose.
I chose to have a a very quiet new years eve. It was a day well spent with family and we had a picnic and went to a movie. I hadn't been to a cinema for so long, it was a such a fun experience. There is so much to be said for the experiences we choose to invest in, especially with other people.
Doing things with others and together, brings so much joy and meaning to our lives.
