A very simple journal post today, with just a few ways I'll be sharing with you, in the new year. As this means so much less on social media, and so much more through journals and blogs on my website, through my Letters of Support, and through my Podcast (A Well Being), which will be launching in January. I can't tell you how excited I am for this and to be sharing my voice and conversations with others in this very new way, for me. Exciting but daunting, but that's with anything we choose to do outside our comfort zone isn't it - but the only way forward is to make that first step or perhaps a leap. Things are changing and evolving and most importantly, things are aligning just they should be, in powerful ways and choices that feel truly right and supportive within myself, which I believe with all my being, will then be of most support to others too.
I value social media in many ways, for personal use and as a business tool. But I think it's so important when we have conversations around social media, to understand that how one person chooses to use it is their choice alone, and how you personally choose to use social media is yours. Just as it's mine. There is no right or wrong way. But there is our own 'right' way and this can change over time. My personal choice with social media has changed, or let me say, it's evolved over this past year. And as we shift now into a new year, I choose to consciously and intentionally use it in ways that feel powerfully aligned and right for me and my own wellbeing. No one else. Just me.
I like to call it the 'Katie way'. But then, as I was talking with my mastermind group about this, I realised so deeply in my being, that of course the 'Katie way' is going to be what works for me, and then what works for others too. That's how intention flows. That's how it works when we're aligned with what feels good. The right people feel aligned to us and to how we choose to do things, too. So, I'll talk more about this in the new year and write some more thougths around using social media consciously and intentionally, and our relationship with it, personally, for wellbeing.
But just for now I wanted to leave this here, and say that in the new year, things are changing. Social media is just one small part of that. One of the biggest reasons for being so much less on social media, is that I value and love conversations, more than anything. And I prefer to give all of my energy to anything and everything that supports having conversations. So, that means a Podcast that's coming in Jaunary. And that means writing and sharing my words, but not in Instagram posts here, but rather on my website as blogs and journal posts, just like this. Because I love to write, I love to not be worried about word length and space and hashtags and arranging my text in a certain way. I prefer no rules, I just love the creativity of writing as ideas flow, and to share supportive words and thoughts and anything that comes to mind. So, it makes complete sense to me, and feels exciting and aligned to be doing this through journal posts and blogs again too.
So much less time on social media, allows more of me and my energy to create. To write free resources to share, to write a course that's been in my mind for a long time now, to write a book - there are lots of things that come to my mind as I write this and think of all the things I will create to share, as support.
It will be really fun to launch my Podcast in January. A Well Being. You can follow @awellbeing_podcast where I'll simply just upload a post of each episode as they come out, and you'll be able to follow along and listen, and read all the show notes through my website too. A Well Being Podcast allows me to have these beautiful conversations that I so love, and coaching, as well as any relationships and connections we have, is all about that. It's what matters to me - conversations that are supportive and compassionate and can powerfully change hearts and lives. To me, it's not about about being behind a screen, or being online all the time, or spending hours on IG or FB or even sending DM's through social media. I'm a bit 'old school' in my way, to have conversations and to connect with others. I prefer picking up the phone and having real time conversations. And better still, in person, face to face, wherever that's possible to do. And I prefer email to engage over social media too. All of these 'old school ways' are part of who I am, and so it just makes sense to me, that I create my business and life in a way that supports having conversations, as this is where true support is. I feel this for me, anyway. And conversations create joy and light up someone's day in a way that's far more valuable than social media. I have had many people tell me this over this past year, when I am that 'old school' person who picks up the phone and calls someone directly, and this is never lost on me.
So, into this new year, you'll see me more on my Podcast, and you can read more of my words and insights through my blog and journal posts, and by signing up to recieve my newsletters which I call 'Letters of Support'. And they're just that - very simple letters, like this journal post really - that I send out now and then, with supportive things from me, and to share others work or words that have resonated and feel valuable to include too. You can also receive a free ebook 'Refuge through challenges, changes and transtions', through my website, which I'm updating with a new edition, but there may be some words of support that resonate for you.
So, as we close this chapter of 2019, I say thank you to everything over this past year. It's been a year of 'so much' and to all the lessons, growth, awareness, hard things and joyful things, I say thank you, and I personally take some time to reflect on, and acknowledge my own accomplishments, in many ways. I so encourage you to do the same - to take some time to acknowledge just how well and far you've moved through this year, through anything and everything. And to carry that sense of accomplishment, courage and even tenacity perhaps, with a wide and open heart, into this next year and phase of life.
As we open the door and step bravely and boldly into 2020, I send you all my support and best wishes for and with everything. May you embrace this new phase and stage in all the ways you are willing to choose. We just never know what the next moment brings, or this next year, and I for one, know the preciousness of all the collection of moments and the gift that is in all the very small things. The ordinary can be the most extraordinary. May we all embrace each moment and live life in a way that feels truly right and aligned and true for us. We have so much support and compassion for others when we see and understand ourselves through eyes of self compassion.
Sending all my support and love,
(If you'd like to receive 'Letters of Support', through the home page, you can sign up to receive my ebook and you'll then be part of this community. I'll be sending the first 2020 letter in the first week of January).
